Afghanistan
Afghanistan is hit by a deadly earthquake.
The devastating 6.3 magnitude earthquake that struck Afghanistan on Saturday, October 7, in the Herat region, killed more than 2,500 people and injured thousands more. Most of the villages in the affected area are completely razed to the ground. So you can certainly well imagine the scale of rescue operations that are necessary at this unfortunate moment.
MAGNA teams are directly in Afghanistan, we also have an operational warehouse of medicines and medical supplies. However, no one expected a disaster of this magnitude so soon after the devastating earthquake in June last year.
That’s why we would like to make an urgent appeal to all of you: donate to the Emergency Relief Fund. It’s a race against time and every euro means a better chance of survival for those trapped under the rubble.
The earthquake completely leveled many villages. The final extent of damage and casualties cannot yet be determined, as communication channels and logistics routes have been destroyed or crippled. Currently, at least 2,000 victims and more than 10,000 injured are confirmed. Unfortunately, we expect these numbers to continue to rise.
How can you help?
