Apply for field work

Would you like to join our team? Before sending us your online application, please ensure that your professional profile meets MAGNA field mission requirements. Certain criteria – including the required availability – may vary between profiles. Apply to join our international pool.

The website Apply for field work is only in English, as English is the working language in MAGNA and it is essential for all international team members to have minimal intermediate level of English.

Our behavioural commitments

The integrity of our organisation is upheld by the good conduct of each individual staff member, in any location, with full respect for the communities we serve.

For us, this means not tolerating any behaviour from our staff that exploits the vulnerability of others, or of employees taking advantage of their position for personal gain.

We do not tolerate any physical or psychological abuse against individuals, sexual harassment, sexual relations with minors, or any behaviour that does not respect human dignity.

Essential information

You are an experienced professional in your field

MAGNA values people with International Non-Governmental Organization (INGO) field experience and considers it an asset in placing them in the field. Persons with at least 24 months of experience with an INGO in the field are provided a salaried contract.

You are available for between 1 and 12 months.

You are available for between 1 and 12 months.

Commitment to MAGNA principles

MAGNA operates independently of any political, military, or religious agenda, observes neutrality, and provides impartial care delivered on the basis of need alone. Qualified applicants are considered for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or veteran status.

Language skills

English is working language in MAGNA.

A significant number of MAGNA missions are in Francophone (French-speaking) countries, and therefore French language skills are highly desirable as they allow for more opportunities for placement. Fluency is valuable but not essential—a competent level of spoken French is more important. While less urgently needed, skills in other languages, such as Arabic are also assets in the field.
